Growing up, I always had dogs as pets. Besides my family, it was my dogs I missed the most after moving to the U.S. when I was 15. In 2016, my partner found a stray pit bull with a broken leg stuck in the middle of the road on a rainy day. He rescued the poor soul and brought him to a nearby shelter. Three months passed, the pit bull recovered, but no family wanted to adopt him. Once I learned the news, I knew that pup was meant to be mine. I took him in and named him Panda (because he’s black and white, and I’m Asian). We’ve been inseparable since.
